Royal Peony Crush
A silk heirloom from a world of splendour, spirit, and story.
This scarf began quietly. A spark. A gathering. No grand plan—steered though, by things I love. A bolt of richly patterned silk, a marvellous scattering of peony petals and lead crystals and a feeling that something was waiting to be uncovered.
I remember laying down the first elements: the petals and elderflower from the garden, crystals that had once graced a chandelier at Buckingham Palace, and a pale blue measure of silk my father had gifted to my mother from Singapore, where he had traveled to many moons ago. There was no design yet—only a pulse. I photographed everything with great care.
Later, when I laid the images bare, I worked slowly, curiously. It felt like arranging an altar. At times, like solving a riddle. The shapes began to converge. A hidden geometry appeared. A tiny crown formed itself from the folds and petal fragments. The word Herstmonceux slipped in neatly beneath—and lo, the Royal Peony Crush was born.
It felt enchanted. Like the scarf had always existed and was simply waiting to be revealed. Not drafted, but dreamt. The result was the first jewel in the Regality Collection: a silk relic alive with colour and meaning.
Crafted from 100% heavy mulberry silk in a generous 111cm x 111cm square, at the hub of the Silk Road, this piece drapes with a regal, tactile presence. Its palette—deep ceruleans, magentas, lilacs, and soft golds—recalls royal salons and twilight gardens. You might wear it to a winter opera or let it catch sunlight at a summer fête. There is no season it doesn’t belong to.
This scarf is both crown and keepsake. A companion to creativity. A quiet guardian of legacy. It is not shy.
A Scarf That Reigns
This is a silk homage to the Silk Road itself—a meta-luxury, a celebration of silk within silk. It is for those who wish to be seen and remembered.
Live your fairytale. Or better yet—author it.
